We are at this wedding this evening. Boty is a flower girl. We shall see how she does. We were fortunate that Beaux and Mary Kathryn got engaged in Panama. Such excitement. Here we are almost a year later at the wedding. Great fun.

Where did the month of April go? And half of May? Well I have been busy crafting and sewing. I will post some of my accomplishments over the next week or so before we head for our annual pilgrimage to Texas.



I took a class that I downloaded from Designer Digitals. The class taught how to get the perfect blend between a photo and a paper among a few other things. I enjoyed it. I did a series of pages based on this simple concept.

Boty has really taken to Natalia and Ramon. Ramon got these photos and I like the way they show the developing relationship between Boty and Natalia.

Like peas and carrots as the saying goes. Tres is a winking fool these days. Boty likes to copy big brother, but so far she hasn’t acquired the one eye wink skill. It will come with time.

This one pulls together some of the different photos from last year of the kids playing in the mud and in the rain. Given that we live in the rainforest, both the mud and the rain are inevitable. The best thing to do is embrace it. And our kids surely do. I am so thankful that they enjoy it because it is truly a part of our life.

Here is a layout that I did recently documenting my adventures in sewing. I sew for all of us these days, but honestly most of what I sew goes to Boty. She likes some of the things I make and some of them she doesn’t. I am slowly learning what it is my girl wants. Tres wears any pajamas I make him, but outside of that he is about as finicky as Boty. Jim will wear anything I make him. And me, I wear anything I make at least once. If it is an utter failure I either take it apart and make it into something else or I pass it on to someone who might not be as picky about it as I am. Or I relegate it to beach cover up as those clothes get some serious abuse.

I am grateful I have a life that allows me to explore my creative side on a daily basis.

and here I am several months later!

I blog for work. I scrap for fun. I sew for fun. I prepare menus for work - so food for work. Somehow it is difficult for me to get the fun documented on this blog. I am going to attempt it yet again and see if it sticks this time. After taking the classes at JessicaSprague.com last fall my scrapping has improved quite a bit. My sewing too has improved. This I believe is because I have made more time to do it more than anything.

I have upped my gratitude quotient by choosing Grace as my word for 2009. It is important to me to remember all that I have and am thankful for on a daily basis. However, life happens and many days it is difficult to put this into practice. Thus choosing Grace - I am hopeful it will create a daily practice of expressing my gratitude at least to myself but I believe it will spill over to everyone in my life.

So for today... here is the layout I did to explain by I picked Grace as my word for 2009.
